Soprano Ashley Fabian is quickly garnering recognition for her artistry in both comedic and dramatic roles. Her 2023 debut at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium with Master Voices in the role of Phyllis in Iolanthe was acclaimed by the New York Classical Review as “a vision of sunshine and joy” and possessing a “lovely lyric soprano”, and by parterre box as a “voice of immense warmth and scintillating spin”. Her command of the stage and excellent musicianship has been praised by critics and audiences across the nation. Ms. Fabian’s 2024-2025 season saw her make several debuts, including Despina in Così fan tutte with Virginia Opera and Ivy Sweet in The Cook-Off with New Orleans Opera. She covered the soprano soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the San Diego Symphony and appeared in concerts with Musica Angelica and the Amadeus Concert Ensemble. In 2025-2026, she will be the soprano soloist in Mahler’s 4th Symphony with the Coastal Symphony of Georgia, perform in a program of Russian music with the Amadeus Concert Ensemble, and will reprise her Carmina Burana with the Reno Philharmonic and West Virginia Symphony. 

Since her critically acclaimed Columbus Symphony Orchestra debut in 2022, Ms. Fabian has sung Carmina Burana with the Tucson Symphony, Knoxville Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Glacier Symphony, Bozeman Symphony, and the Utah Symphony. Critics cited her “utterly sublime rendition” and “gorgeous crystalline tone” (Utah Arts Review) as well as her “impressive command of labyrinthine melismas” (Quasi-Faust). 

Regarding her performance in Into the Woods with Holy City Arts & Lyric Opera in 2022, The Post & Courier writes: “As Cinderella, Ashley Fabian transformed the crisp night air into a thing of stirring beauty.” Other role highlights include Gilda in Rigoletto (Holy City Arts & Lyric Opera), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (San Diego Opera), Chan Parker in Charlie Parker’s Yardbird (Indianapolis Opera), Marzelline in a workshop of Beethoven’s Fidelio (Los Angeles Philharmonic/Deaf West Theater), and Galatea in the American premiere of Porpora’s Polifemo. She also recently covered the title role in the new Simon Stone production of Lucia di Lammermoor at Los Angeles Opera conducted by Lina González-Granados.  She has sung Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (Pacific Opera Project), Bellezza in Handel’s Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno, Johanna in Sweeney Todd (Des Moines Metro Opera); Adina in L’elisir d’amore (Indianapolis Opera, Pittsburgh Opera); Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Ilia in Idomeneo, Younger Alyce in Glory Denied (Pittsburgh Opera), Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor (Hudson Opera Theatre); Madame Silberklang in The Impresario (Central City Opera), as well as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Bastienne in Bastien und Bastienne, The Princess in Transformations, and Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief. She has recorded the roles of Sister Sparrow in Okoye/Moore’s Bre’r Rabbit and the Tar Baby and Venus in Skidmore’s The Golden Ass, both with Virginia Arts Festival. 

In concert, Ms. Fabian has sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in a concert with Chris Thile (Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek), and at Disney Concert Hall as a soprano soloist in Steve Reich’s Traveler’s Prayer under the baton of Brad Lubman. She also sang as the soprano soloist in Messiah with the Winston-Salem Symphony. Ms. Fabian has appeared as the soprano soloist for Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem with the Erie Philharmonic, and in Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, Charpentier’s Te Deum, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and a fully staged production of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.

Ms. Fabian was a three-time Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition and has been the recipient of awards from the Orpheus Vocal Competition, the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition, Central City Opera, and the Grand Concours Franco-American Competition. In addition, she was a finalist in the Tenor Viñas Competition, Mildred Miller Competition, Cooper-Bing Competition, and Piccola Opera Competition. She holds a M.M. from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a B.A. and Artist Diploma from The College of Charleston. In addition to her work as a soprano, Ms. Fabian enjoys an acting career in her home base of Los Angeles. She has appeared in various projects including several films, most recently featured on the Lifetime Movie Network. An avid game show enthusiast, she has appeared as an undefeated contestant on Wheel of Fortune and Game Show Network’s Chain Reaction.
